Obituary of Jean P Buck

Jean P. Buck, age 92, passed away on September 23, 2018.

Jean was born on a farm near Princeton, N.J., but a resident of Somerset County most of her life.  She married Albert G. Buck, a WWII veteran, in 1949 and had 3 children.  In addition to being a stay at home mother and gardener, she was very active in several charitable organizations such as, to name a few, a founding member of the Basking Ridge Bonafides, volunteering for the Visiting Nurses Association semi-annual flea market for decades, and an avid supporter of the Bernardsville Library. Although she had to slow down in her later years, her mind certainly did not and remained sharp “as a tack” to the end.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her son, James, and 3 siblings.  Survivors include her sister, Harriet, son, Alan Buck (Nina Bielli), her daughter, Anita Temple, and several nieces and nephews and their children.

The family feels blessed and thankful for her excellent and compassionate caregivers for the past few years: Home Care Assistance of Warren, the Visiting Nurses Association, and Brightview Assisted Living of Warren.

A private burial service will be conducted in the future at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.  Donations may be made in her name to the Bernardsville Library, 1 Anderson Hill Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07920, or to a charity of your choice.
