Joseph’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5: 28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". Daddy this is by far the worst heartache I have ever endured! You were my everything my all my heart and soul. I was always in your corner and for that I'm happy that I got to know you better than anybody. You have done so much for me and my babies. You made me into the strong woman I am today and I thank you for that. You took on the role of mommy and daddy at the age of 25 which most men would have never done. Even through our ups and downs we always had a bond that NOBODY could understand or break. Gianna and joey are blessed to have had you as the great role model you were for them. You are forever in our hearts and Gianna already saw you last night in her dreams. She said you got up from the hospital bed and walked and looked great and pain free! My promise to you is I will be the woman you always told me I could be and now I will live righteously for you and my babies. Hey we always did laugh we everyone who would say "well Sam the apple didn't fall far from the tree with this one ". I'm honored to have had you as my father I love you FOREVER. Rest well daddy until we meet again! Wilson will never forget you as you were like a second father to him as well. He loves you so much and is greatful to have been a part of your life! Xoxoxo

I was so sad to hear about Sammy. I’ve known him since the middle 70s. Maryann & Michelle we’re friends with Melissa when they were young. I especially remember taking all 3 girls on their first train ride. Sammy was good friends with Cubby. I can imagine Sammy & Cubby are getting reacquainted in heaven. He was a good friend & a great dad. To The whole family I send my thoughts & prayers & much love during this hard time. RIP Sammy

Sam and I talked all the time on the phone. Anytime of the day or night.. it didn’t matter.. He used to make me laugh like no other .. The last month or so was different. Just last week he called me at 3:30 in the morning.. He needed to speak to me, and he said my voice was comforting to him. I always felt bad when an hour would go by and I would have to go and get ready for work. He would say he understood but I could hear the tears in his voice...Sam was a great man and loved his Gigi so very much. He was so happy when she would come and stay with Pop Pop.. I miss you terribly already but you aren’t in pain any longer. I know you will be waiting for me, when my time comes. As Sam would say to me “ goodnight kiddo.. you know how much I love you.. Be good and we’ll chat soon hon”... Rest In Peace sweet Sam.. There’s no more suffering ...I’ll see you one day and we will have that pizza that I promised...
