Obituary of Mary Elizabeth McHale
Mary Elizabeth (Betty) McHale, 96 of Wyoming, PA, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at her home. She moved as a child to Linden, NJ where she lived for 50 years before settling in Basking Ridge, NJ for the last 11years. Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of John and Mary (Seigel) Sawoszczyk. She was a stay at home mom and loved raising her daughter. Mary Elizabeth loved nothing more but to spend her time with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Edwin McHale of nearly 50 years of marriage who passed away in 1995. She is also predeceased by her two brothers John and Daniel Savitsky and her sister Helen Fratallone.
Mary Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter Sharon Bender and husband Jeffrey of Basking Ridge, NJ. Her two grandchildren Jeffrey John and wife Jessica Lynn of Fort West Point, NY, and Elisa Jane Johnson and husband Ralph Hardy of Chicago, IL. Her five great grandchildren Emma Lynn Bender, Jeffrey John Bender, Ralph Hardy Johnson, Edwin Hardy Johnson, and Rose Clare Johnson. Mary is also survived by her niece Janet Fazzini and her great niece and nephews Joanne Kiraley, Debra Nasti, Alfred Bohr, and John David Bohr.
Mary loved family picnics on Foote Avenue with nieces and nephews Jackie McHale, Jewel McHale, Jacqueline Herron, Gerald Herron, Beverly Lynch, Fredrick M. Palm, Martin Hastie, Kenneth Hastie, George Michael McHale, Mark McHale, and Arlene McHale.
The McHale family would also like to mention and thank Mary’s home aide Maria Sosa who took such great care of Mary. Also, a special thanks to her doctor Sergiusz I. Kaftal, M.D. who provided such care and compassion.
