Extending my deepest sympathy on Luke's passing. I met Luke many years ago when he was the Director of Guidance at Somerville High School. He was a pleasure to work with and one of the very best people I've met at the school. Sending prayers and wishing that wonderful memories support you through this most difficult time.

Condolences to the McGrath family on the passing of one of the finest men I worked with at AL Johnson HighSchoool. Luke was a great educator with patience beyond believf and a sense of humor that was as big as his heart. More often than not we sat with the same group at lunch====most memorable! Young people and teachers wre lucky to have spent time with a gentleman and scholar. Oh " Lu-Lu" ---how can you be gone?

This is such sad news. I worked with Luke at Arthur L. Johnson in Clark from 1982 to 1993. I was his aide in the ED class that he taught. We had many good times teaching together and there are so many memories of my early teaching career that Luke is a part of. I remember when Sean was born & Sarah bringing him to class when he was a few months old. We shared many stories about our cats and the adventures they would get into all the time. My thoughts & prayers are with Sarah & Luke's sons. He was an amazing teacher who really cared about his students and preparing them for life after high school. He was so proud of his family and spoke about them often. Luke is definitely in heaven! May he rest in peace. I will never forget him!

Luke and I go back many years, with many years between corresponding. My fondest memories of Luke were working together at Camp Lymelight and a backpacking journey we took together in New England and Canada. We had a simpatico that two people don't always have. Time is precious and I wish to have been in better touch. My sincere condolences to Sarah and the McGrath family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Luke’s passing. I only have positive, wonderful memories of him as an administrator, colleague and friend. I love how he used to come hang out in the back of the choir room and listen for a little while to escape the everyday stresses. My deepest sympathy to the McGrath family. I feel terrible I am going to be away during his visitation and funeral so I won’t see any of you in person. My heartfelt condolences to all.

Luke will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. I was fortunate to have learned a lot from him when I started in Somerville. I will miss his humor and the friendly banter we had during and outside of work. Also, I will not forget his two-finger typing or his always asking Carol for his passwords! My condolences go out to his family during this most difficult time.

We are all heartbroken to hear of Luke's passing. He was a dear friend who will be remembered with a smile and a warm heart. His compassion and humor helped to bring us comfort during difficult times and hopefully will give us strength during our grief. He was a kind and caring friend who always led with his heart. All who were lucky enough to know him had their lives touched by a beautiful spirit. May the laughs and smiles he shared be a comfort to all who grieve him, especially his beloved family. Deepest condolences, K Tovi-Jones
