Obituary of Stephen A. Denman

Stephen A. Denman On September 25, 2011, devoted husband and adoring father, Stephen A. Denman, "Steve," passed away peacefully after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Price Denman, his two daughters Kathleen Denman Baker and Diane Denman Fields. Together with his sons-in-law, John W. Baker II, Brian J. Fields and his grandchildren, Alexandra Baker, Daniella Fields, Jake Denman Fields and Kyra Fields, we all cherish the exemplary expression of love he taught us. Born on October 14, 1931 in Cranford, New Jersey, he is the son of the late John Rolfe Denman and Elsie Sanderson Denman. This line of the Denman family were amongst the first settlers in Cranford and are direct descendants of Francis Scott Key, author of 'The Star Spangled Banner," and of Margaret Pettingill who made the 'Star Spangled Banner," now in the Smithsonian. Until his passing, he was President of Alpha Sealing Products. Additionally, he was an original member of the Watchung Mountain Chapter, NJ of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Founder and First President of the Somerset County Art Association, Bernardsville, NJ and was an active Mason. He served our country in the National Guard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Steve's family request donations be made to the charity of choice.
