Obituary of Fortunato Rizzo

BR-10-2011 Fortunato "Sonny" Rizzo, 73, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away on Thursday September 15 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center. Born in Newark, NJ he lived in Union before moving to Basking Ridge in 1997. Sonny was a sales representative for Satellite Industry in Edison for 20 years before retiring in 1996. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Sonny loved fresh water fishing, hunting, the Giants, the Yankees and his family. He spent much time fishing the waters of PA, NY, NJ, Vermont and Canada with Jerry, Nick, and Artie. He took great pride in his Sicilian heritage. Sonny had a very quick wit and loved people. He is pre deceased by his parents Philip and Angelina, and his brother Anthony. Surviving are his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years Arlene, beloved children Kathleen and Steven, Son in law Ernest Wasserbach, his cherished grandson Brandon, and loving brothers Frank and Daniel. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday September 21 at 10 am at the St. Vincent DePaul Church, Stirling, NJ followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery.
