Obituary of Martha Wildey

Martha "Marty" Wildey, Nee Martha Wade Pakenham, died Tuesday morning June 7, 2011. She was born in Orange, NJ on March 24, 1929 and was married for 61 years to the love of her life, Roy Wildey, to whom she was affectionately known as "Shorty". She was a Basking Ridge resident for 48 years. Services will be held on Saturday June 11, 2011 at 11:00am at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Street, Liberty Corner, NJ, followed by burial in the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Wildey retired from the Bernard's township school district, where she was a long-time secretary to Principal Joe Kaufman at Cedar Hill Elementary School. She later moved to Liberty Corner Elementary School to finish out her career. Martha is survived by her sons Steven Roy Wildey, of Basking Ridge, Gary Michael Wildey, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, her daughter Sharon Lee Coury, of Dallas Texas, her grandchildren, Jessica Hope, Joshua, Eli and Bennett Wildey, Jennifer Davila, and Nicole and Danielle Coury. She is also survived by her brother in law Herbert Cornelius Wildey and his wife Joan, her niece Virginia Newman and her sister in law Jean Wildey. Martha was devoted to her family and friends and was extremely active in Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered for being inseparable from Roy, lighting up the dance floor and enjoying summer nights in her pool and on her back porch.
