Obituary of Viola Gigourtis

Viola Gigourtakis, 91, passed away at her home in Stirling on Dec. 11, 2017. A Memorial Mass will be held on Dec. 16, at 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 250 Bebout Ave Stirling, NJ 07980. For further information, or to light an online condolence candle please visit www.gcfuneralhome.com Viola is survived by her children Steven of Union, NJ, Laura Minaian and husband Mansour of Millington, NJ and Clare Cassidy and husband Thomas of Gillete, NJ; also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, Brooke, Christopher, Alexander, Danielle, Ottilie, Ali, Kayla, Nicholas, and Julia. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 2000 and 2 children, Anne Campbell 2011 and Alfred 1962. Mrs. Gigourtakis was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in South Orange. She also resided in Maplewood, and Short Hills before her final move in 2000 to Stirling, NJ. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Smith College. Viola enjoyed walking her dog angel, working on crossword puzzles, maintaining a beautiful home and travelling with her husband before his death.
