Ed was a wonderful example of Christian love, tolerance, and service and Bob & I admired him greatly! He lived a long and fruitful life, yet it is so hard to say good-bye to a beloved one, even though temporarily. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy go out to Janice and the kids & grands, as well as all who knew and loved Ed. He will be sorely missed . . . but what a heavenly reunion awaits!!
Much love, Dee

I was privileged to serve with Ed for many years on the Vestry at Covenant Chapel, RE. Our families were great friends and we treasure the many happy memories we have of Ed, Janice, David, Danny, and Amy. The family graciously opened their lake home to us many times-both as a family and when we were there with the CC youth group.
We are so sorry for Ed's passing and offer our deepest condolences. We are also sure that we will meet again for an eternity together through the finished work of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I can say that in my long years as a Christian, I have never met a man who more thoroughly and consistently modeled what it meant to be totally "sold out" to Jesus Christ. He was and continues to be an inspiration.

Dear Meharg Family,
We were saddened to learn of Ed's passing. Although we have moved away to North Carolina, he was always remembered and loved by us as the kind unassuming man he was. Our hearts go out to all of you. You have written a beautiful obituary giving your dad and husband the honor he so deserves. You will all be in our prayers. We plan to make a donation to Covenant Chapel in Ed's memory.
With much love,
Joan and Vinny Muller (Joanie Kantor)

Uncle Ted, I have known you my entire life, even before I can remember. My mom told me that I used to wake you up when I was a toddler, saying, "Get up, Tid, it's time to play!" You have always been so kind and supportive of my family and me, and I know how much you treasured your relationship with your little sister, who is my mother. You have always been there for Mom, from the times you took the train to Indiana for childhood summers on your aunt's farm, to having a lift installed after my mother had a hip replacement.
Thank you, also, for the lovely afternoons at Cranberry Lake, catching up and enjoying meals, swims, and canoeing. It was clear how much your family loved you and how much you loved them and your time together in that peaceful setting.
Your faith is an inspiration to me as well. With much love and many memories,
Hope Anderson

Grandpa,
I'm sure you're looking down with some irony as we light some digital candles for you. But at least they can't go out. You taught be to be who I am. You displayed unparalleled grace and intelligence. You showed us what it means to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. We'll miss you but celebrate as you abide with our Father now and forever.
Love you,
Jonny

My dad was such an inspiration to us all. He always showed interest in us and loved to hear what we were doing. His love for my Mom was always on display as he would frequently give her a hug and a smile right up to the end. He loved his grandchildren, daughter in laws, sister, and extended family. His Godly life and dedication to the church left a deep impression on our lives. He had such a servant heart for the things of God and others and worked tirelessly in many capacities in the local church and for the church denomination. In his prayers at the family dinner table, he just about always thanked God for sending Jesus to save us from our sins and provide us with eternal life. I feel so grateful for having such a wonderful father and I will miss him greatly. I look forward to being reunited with him in Glory as we sing praises together to our God and King.

Grandpa I am so blessed to have known you and had you in my life. When I think of you I think of whistling, popping cheeks, playing at dinosaur park, and countless other good memories. You also taught me what a Christian looks like when I would see you up early with your Bible, starting your day with God. I hope to one day have a fraction of your wisdom, kindness, generosity, humility, love, and devotion to Christ. I love you
