Obituary of Clyde James McGuire

Clyde J. McGuire passed away Saturday June 24th after a brief illness. Clyde was born in Middletown, NY in 1942, the fifth of nine children. Raised in Newark, he moved to Bernardsville after marrying his wife Judy and shortly after started CJ McGuire Trucking and Landscaping running the business for over 35 years. He retired and enjoyed time with his wife until she passed in 2010. He was a volunteer with the Visiting Nurses Assoc. helping with their rummage sale twice a year for the past 12 years. Clyde loved a strong cup of coffee, a fresh doughnut and a hot slot machine. His laugh will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters Lisa McGuire Kotz of Bernardsville and Kellie McGuire of Califon. Son in law David Kotz and grandchildren Caitlin and Paul Kotz of Bernardsville and Quinn McGuire of Ridgefield CT. Brother and sisters John McGuire, Kathleen Dempsey , Carolyn Grandy, Mary Defritas, Joan Cucolo and many cousins. He is predeceeded in death by his wife Judy, son Paul and grandson Tucker Czajkowski. Brothers, Thomas and Barry and a sister Nancy Mason. A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 29th from 6-8pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 south finely Ave, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Visiting Nurses Assoc. Rummage Sale in his name.
