Obituary of Peter Hockmeyer

Peter Hockmeyer, 78, of Basking Ridge passed away peacefully of a short illness on September, 5, 2016 at Fellowship Village. Peter was born in New York City before moving to Basking Ridge where he spent most of his life. He was a stuntman and actor for over 50 years, staring in many movies, shows, and commercials. He also was a commercial real estate agent when he wasn't acting. Peter was an avid golfer, and loved to travel. He also enjoyed spending his free time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. Peter was a member of Bishop Janes United Methodist Church in Basking Ridge, and volunteered at the church and around town. Peter is predeceased by his loving wife Carolyn in 2000. He is survived by his 3 children Laura Hockmeyer of Chester, NJ, Peter Hockmeyer and his wife Ellen of Watchung, NJ,and Brian Hockmeyer of Basking Ridge, NJ. He has 5 grandchildren, Madison, Meghan, Aidan, Liam, and Carolyn. Also survived by his sister Susan Sincero. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016, 10:00am at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church, 22 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. Burial will be private for the family.
