Paul Lang

Obituary of Paul A Lang

Paul Albert Lang passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was 93 years old. Paul was born to Lillian (formerly Connors) and Henry Lang on October 20, 1930 (and as he loved to say, “10/20/30") in Brooklyn, NY. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lily Lang (formerly Shamiah), three older siblings, Hank Lang, Joan Kern and Ed Lang, and his brother and sister in laws.

Paul was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School. He served for the US Army during the Korean War from November 1951 until July 1953.

Paul was employed by Aetna Casualty and Security Co. for four decades where he met the love of his life, Lily, in the mid 1950’s. They married on January 11, 1958 at Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Church in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, and were married for 64 wonderful years. They lived in Brooklyn until 2016 when they moved to Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge. Their life together was filled with trips to Atlantic City, parties with their family and countless friends, and summers down at the shore in Belmar, where Paul spent his childhood and had many fond memories which he continued to create with his family for years to come.

Paul and Lily have three children; Paul Lang (Linda), Carol Galgano (Jerry) and Widette Fox (Russell). They have eight grandchildren; Kristen (Joe), Allison, Jamie (Mike), Susan (Cole), Catherine (David), Lauren, Sarah and Jeffrey. They also have four great-grandchildren; Lily, Nora, Owen and Luke. Paul was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Paul was a devout Catholic who had many hobbies and talents that included playing the piano and composing his own tunes, which his family loved to listen to. He was an artist who loved to draw. He loved antique cars and owned a 1938 LaSalle. He rode his bicycle to get the paper every morning until he moved from Brooklyn. He could fix absolutely anything, and loved creating unique gadgets to make his kids and grandkids lives more convenient. He was filled with jokes and riddles and made everyone around him laugh.

He was someone that everyone respected and loved, and he will be fondly remembered. God bless him always.
