Jane M Koehne Obituary

Jane Marie Koehne (née Moore) of Basking Ridge, NJ, (formerly of Bernardsville), 64, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 1st with her children and family by her side.

Jane was raised in Essex Fells and summered at Normandy Beach. She attended the College of Boca Raton and Belmont Abbey, followed by nearly a decade at Prudential-Bache before dedicating her life to her 2 children, her pride and joy. Throughout the years, she enjoyed sailing, swimming, horseback riding, and especially loved oil painting. Along the way, Jane's artwork was displayed at juried exhibitions through the Center for Contemporary Art. She also spent many years as a member of the Bernardsville Garden Club which brought her great joy.

Most of all, Jane enjoyed being out on the ocean with the love of her life and partner of over 25 years, Alan Shea, on the Miss Erin. Together, they enjoyed hitting golf balls, family trips, cruising, and enjoying the beauty of quiet nights in the backyard. Her loving spirit, generous soul, and tenacity for life will be so greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Kirsten Koehne of Basking Ridge and Tommy Koehne of Morristown; her sisters, Susan Schenker of Manasquan and Barbara Lastoria of Hingham, MA; her brother, John Moore and his wife Colleen of Gaithersburg, MD; her partner, Alan Shea of Basking Ridge; and Alan’s children, Erin Shea and her fiancé John Bobosh of Freehold, and Ryan Shea and his wife Dr. Rose Caruso of Freehold. Jane was adored by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Moore, and former husband, John Koehne.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Saturday, August 8th in Bernardsville at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
