Donald Frederick Jost, 97, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 7, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, Donald was the son of Frederick and Edna Jost. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York, in 1945. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN graduating in 1949, and later received his law degree from Fordham University in New York City.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Donald enjoyed a long and successful career with AT&T, where he worked for many years. Throughout his life, he embraced an active lifestyle and had a love for sports, especially skiing, tennis, and golf.

A devoted member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Basking Ridge, Donald faithfully served as an usher for many years. He also found great joy in volunteering within his community, serving meals to those in need and lending a helping hand wherever he could. His kindness, generosity, and quiet dedication to others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy Crosswaite Jost of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.

Burial will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Donald's memory.
