Christopher J. dePoortere, 65, of Basking Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Morristown Hospital.  Born April 7, 1961, in Morristown, he was a son of Richard and the late Marion (Williams) dePoortere. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, the Washington Redskins and spending time with his friends at Don’s Farm. 

Chris is survived by his daughters, Maryann Erwin and husband, Justin, Amanda dePoortere and Dana Marie Seagreaves and husband Trevor; grandsons, Tyler, Matthew and James; brother, Patrick; sisters, Kathleen and Elizabeth (Beth) and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his mother, he was proceeded in death by his brothers, Rich and Steve. 

Services will be held privately at the discretion of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made in Chris’ memory to Morristown Hospital’s Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care in honor of the care and attention he received. Donate Now | Foundation for Morristown Medical Center
