Anthony Salvatore de Padova, 82, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away on June 11, 2026 in Summit, NJ.

He will be interred at  Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum,   in Basking Ridge,  on June 12, 2026.  Funeral arrangements were prepared by Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Anthony was born in Newark, NJ to Pasquale (Pat) and Marian de Padova on June 17, 1943.  He went to high school at Seton Hall Preparatory School, then went on to earn a degree in Biology with a Minor in Theology from Seton Hall University. He later received his Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Baltimore, MD. Soon after, he moved his family to Italy so he could complete coursework to earn a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Padova. Upon his return to the United States, he began his medical career working at hospitals in PA, CT, and Ridgewood and Morristown, NJ.  A few years into his residency he left to begin his career in the Pharmaceutical Industry working his way to Senior Vice President managing drug trials and FDA approvals for companies such as Warner Lambert and Knoll Pharmaceuticals. Eventually, he started his own successful company working in drug safety for over 20 years.

Anthony was an avid runner who preferred to run outside no matter the weather, even when he traveled; and was proud to have completed the NYC Marathon. He had a true passion for learning including cooking and baking. He took classes at the French Culinary Institute in NY, King Arthur School of Baking in VT, and even Le Cordon Bleu in France.   Anthony loved traveling to experience the local food and wine but also to learn about the rich history of a culture's art and architecture; and would read or watch anything relating to Civil and World War history. 

Anthony is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deborah and daughters Sara and Elizabeth.  Anthony also had 2 dogs and loved animals.
