Joseph Cappiello, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center. He was a resident of Randolph, NJ.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Joseph spent most of his life there surrounded by family and friends. He proudly served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1957.

Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, in 2006, as well as his son Joe, John, and daughter Peggy.

He is survived by his loving children, Joann Badolato and her husband Tom, William Cappiello and his life partner Karen.

He was a cherished grandfather to David Badolato and his wife Avery, Laura Hutchinson and her husband Craig, Michael Badolato and his wife Kristin, Melissa Lane and her husband Steven, Danielle Sherman and her husband David, Joey Scanniello and his wife Amy, Brandon Cappiello, Nicole Comella, Tina Comella, and Laura Cappiello.

Joseph was also blessed with great-grandchildren Keira, Coraline, Isla, Delilah, DJ, Vincent, and Lucus.

Joseph enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved visiting Atlantic City, spending time watching television, and most of all gathering with his family for barbecues and special occasions. He will be remembered for his love of family, his warmth, and the many memories shared with those closest to him.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
