One of my many favorite memories of Jim was during the St. Mark's rummage sale. I would find something I liked and he would negotiate the price down for me. I call this "The Good Ole Boys" photo. I'll miss ya Jim. - Teri Passarello

I was probably what you would call a "Jimmy" groupee as every time I saw him, he'd have to tell me a story about the town, or things he remembered growing up in town. From the dozing of Route 287, to his fun at the sandpit, he'd always be there to tell a good story. Every once in a while I'd catch Jim there at Brush's with his posse holding court almost every day. My 5 min deli stop would turn into an hour almost every time. Writing for the Mr. Local History Project, I researched many of his tales which did pan out to great stories. When I went to find a picture or two, I was amazed how many I had - to which I felt compelled to write a story about our interactions - https://mrlocalhistory.org/jimmy-decoste-mr-local-history/ - will miss you a whole bunch. RIP my friend.

I did not get to see my Uncle Jimmy as much as I would have liked, but when I did I remember a man who was funny and full of life ,always smiling .I remember sitting on his lap and he sang a little song about his Jenny Sue and it made me feel loved and special. As I grew older I got to watch him marching in the parades he was in and I learned about how much he served his community and country and loved his family .I am proud to be his niece .I send my love and prayers to all of his family.
