Regina Catherine Morris, 72, passed away peacefully at home in Basking Ridge, NJ on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on October 27, 1953, in Wilmington, DE, Regina lived a life filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable stories.

A graduate of Mount Saint John Academy, Regina went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgian Court University. She began her career teaching early elementary education before embarking on what became a long, dedicated, and highly respected 30+ year career with Verizon. She ultimately retired as an Associate Director, a role she took great pride in. One of her proudest (and funniest) professional moments was being named “Employee of the Month” at Bell Atlantic—an announcement that surprised her so much she nearly fainted.

Regina had a vibrant spirit and a gift for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. She loved bringing joy into the lives of her family—especially her niece and nephews, who adored her. She was there for every milestone, every challenge, and every celebration. Known for her quick wit, infectious laugh, and her knack for being right in the middle of every fun and lighthearted moment, she brought a special kind of joy into everything she touched. Her presence made life richer, and her stories will continue to be shared for generations.

She also treasured her lifelong friendship with Cindy, her best friend of more than 50 years; together they enjoyed traveling, going to shows, and finding joy in everyday life.

Above all, Regina was most proud of her family. She is survived by her brother James S. Morris III (Ginger Davis); nephews James S. Morris IV (wife, Victoria; son, James) and Steven Morris; niece Katie Morris, all of Mooresville, NC; and her dearest friend, Cindy Beringer of Basking Ridge, NJ. She is also remembered lovingly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. Regina was preceded in death by her parents, James S. Morris, Jr. and Audrey Wynne Morris.

Regina’s legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her joy—and a world made brighter by her life.

Visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will follow from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM at St. James Church, with burial immediately afterward at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Liberty Corner Fire & First Aid or Atlantic Health Hospice.
