Virginia Marie (Igoe) Driscoll of Basking Ridge passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children.

Virginia, affectionately known to all as Deedee, was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 20, 1940 and raised in Manhasset, NY. She built a life grounded in faith and family. On January 8, 1966, she married David Edward Driscoll of Windsor, Connecticut, at the Church of St. Mary in Manhasset. Together they raised six children in Manhasset before moving to Summit, NJ in 1984. They spent their later years in Basking Ridge, NJ, where they were active members of St. James Catholic Church.

Deedee was predeceased by her husband David of 47 years. She is survived by her children Susan (Peter) Carton of Dallas, TX, Darrah (Joseph) Kenney of Rumson, NJ, David Driscoll of Basking Ridge, NJ, Peter Driscoll of Dallas, TX, James (Mary) Driscoll of Newtown, CT, Bryan (Stephanie) Driscoll of Westfield, NJ, and her cherished grandchildren: Mackenzie (Austin) Baker, Sean Kenney, Lachlan Carton, Grace Kenney, Owen Kenney, Ryan Carton, and Eleanor Driscoll.

She was the beloved daughter of Virginia Blake Igoe and Joseph Aloysius Igoe, and was the oldest of six siblings, Mary Ann Pierce of Lexington, MA, Joseph A. Igoe of Richmond, England, Kathryn Kordts of Cape Coral, FL, and was predeceased by her sisters Jane Walters and Julia Delaney. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Deedee graduated from Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career as a nurse at Morgan Guarantee Trust Co. of NY. After her parents passed away at an early age, Deedee shifted her focus to raising her teenage siblings while also starting her own family. Deedee fully embraced and balanced her role as caregiver to her siblings and mother to her children with the same passion, love, and support she offered throughout her life. She was a faithful, devout woman whose life was firmly rooted in her love of the church and the comfort of her faith. She cherished her time with friends and found joy in exploring new places, while always rendering her warm spirit and gratitude wherever she went.

She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity and the unwavering devotion she shared with her family, her faith, and all those who were fortunate to know Deedee.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m . Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church at 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge.
