Marie Jeannine Ilario Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Marie Jeannine Ilario, 94, of Florham Park, NJ, passed away on November 22, 2025 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 111 Claremont Road, Bernardsville, NJ on Saturday, November 29, at 10 am. The Reverend John C. Siceloff will officiate. Entombment will follow at Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery, Short Hills, NJ. Visitation will be held at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ, on Friday, November 28 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Jeannine, as she was known, was born in Granby, Quebec, Canada to Rose-Anna Rouleau and Napoleon Robert on January 17, 1931, the twelfth of fourteen children. She attended the local Catholic elementary school and then earned a diploma in secretarial studies. Jeannine began work for the Bank of Montreal while only 16 years of age, serving as a bilingual stenographer and executive secretary for 13 years. In 1960 she married Anthony Ilario, moving with him to the Bronx, New York, where they raised their two daughters. She served as a teacher’s aide for a number of years. In retirement the couple moved to Maplewood, NJ where she was active at Saint Joseph’s Parish, serving as a leader of the Rosary Society. She also was active in her condominium where she lived for almost 30 years, including serving as recording secretary for the board for a time. Those who knew Jeannine appreciated her cheerful nature and joie de vie. She delighted in travel, gardening, good food, and her pets, both canine and feline. Nothing made her happier though than spending time with her family, especially the little ones. Her lifelong faith was a constant source of strength.

Jeannine is survived by her daughters Rosanne Luzarraga (Alberto) and Louise Nemeth (Peter), her grandchildren Cristina Luzarraga (Torrey Armstrong), Alberto Javier Luzarraga (Dr. Katia Sherman), Nicolas Luzarraga (Dr. Hanna Vollbrecht), Daniel Luzarraga, Melanie Nemeth and Peter Nemeth. Also, her great-grandchildren Luisa Armstrong, Francisco Armstrong and Leo Luzarraga. She is survived as well by her sisters Ange-Aimee Robert and Lise Robert Ganos, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and her dear feline companion Sweet Pea. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Anthony Ilario. Also her parents, eleven siblings and a number of nieces and nephews.
