Dawn M Piano Obituary

On October 17, 2025, Dawn Marie Piano (nee Tayloe), 60, was called to rest leaving behind a tapestry of love woven through her devotion to her large family and many friends. A cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. Her memory will be a blessing.

Dawn leaves behind her husband of 23 years, David Piano, her mother Marie Battista (nee LaStella), her father John R. Tayloe and his partner Cheryl Ahlsten, her mother and father in-law Rose and Ernie Piano, her sisters Rhonda Tayloe-Calinda and Debbie Sabella (nee McEnroe), their respective husbands Philip A. Calinda and Douglas Sabella, and her brother John McEnroe and his wife Doreen McEnroe (nee Stranges). Her brother Patrick McEnroe died in 2000. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ernie Piano, Jr., her sister-in-law Rosanne McGovern (nee Piano) and Rosanne’s husband Timothy McGovern.

She was blessed to have 12 nieces and nephews, Thomas III, Katie, Douglas, Matthew, Philip, Chelsea, Jessica, Ashley F., Joseph, Laura, Ashley M, and Kristen. Additional blessings that brought her an abundance of joy were her 7 great nieces and nephews: Luca, Nicholas, Easton, Logan Sofia, Leo, and Jordan.

Dawn was born in the great state of New Jersey where she lived most of her life, but over the past few years she enjoyed the months she spent at her Florida home.

Her heart was further filled with the love of her 2 dogs, Nikki and Peyton. She was a lover of all animals and rescued many throughout her life. Because of her compassion and kind heart animals always gravitated to her.

Dawn’s employment with BNE Real Estate Group began in 1991 and continued into her passing. She was trusted, valued, and loved by everyone she worked with and will be greatly missed.

Dawn was a huge sports enthusiast and tried to never miss a college football game.  She could “talk” teams, players, and scores almost like a sportscaster.  Dawn loved the outdoors and preferred a Jack neat, and a Ford F150. Spending time in her family’s Virginia home on the banks of the Rappahannock River was a significant joy in her life.

Dawn’s huge heart and non-judgmental way coupled with her free-spirited nature was only topped with her witty and sharp comebacks. While she disarmed you with her love, she got you with her sass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dawn’s name to Eleventh Hour Rescue https://givebutter.com/eleventh-hour-rescue/ , Tunnel to Towers https://t2t.org/donate/, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now.
