Michael I Eichvalds Obituary

Michael I. Eichvalds July 8, 1959 — September 12, 2025

Michael “Mike” I. Eichvalds passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, surrounded by love after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Anyone who knew Mike would tell you he loved life and lived it to the fullest. Whether he was with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, or—his favorite of all—riding his motorcycle, Mike embraced every day with a smile.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Mike graduated from Crestwood High School class of 1977 in Mountaintop, PA. He later settled in Bangor, PA with his wife Anne, where they shared a life filled with love and laughter until her passing in 2019. Mike spent his entire career as a car salesman, a profession he truly loved; he considered many of his coworkers to be true friends.

Mike loved his family, his friends, and his partner, Eileen Murray, with his whole heart. He was known for a quick joke, his warm smile, and the comfort he offered to others. His upbeat spirit and kind presence will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his loving partner, Eileen Murray; his parents, Ivars and Patricia Eichvalds; brothers James (Sandi) and Robert (Rosita); as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his great-nephew Jack, born the day after Mike’s passing—a gentle reminder that life goes on.

While we will never forget Mike and all the love he shared, we will honor his memory in action—by living fully, laughing often, and caring for one another as he cared for us.  Those who wish to remember Mike may do so with acts of kindness, a ride in the open air, or simply by sharing stories or a smile in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to MSKCC in honor of Mike to help fund Pancreatic Cancer research.
