William Edelmann Obituary

William “Bill” Edelmann

July 8, 1961 – August 25, 2025

William (Bill) Edelmann, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on July 8, 1961, Bill lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and love.

Bill’s life was profoundly shaped by his time spent in Louisiana as a young boy creating special bonds that lasted a lifetime. He had a particular love for LSU, his alma mater, where he was awarded a scholarship to play football and proudly took the field for the most incredible team. After his playing years, he went on to start a family and later earned his Executive MBA from LSU, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Bill contributed to the community as President of the Board of Education in Union Township, NJ for a number of years as well as being a leader for the Knights of Columbus in Basking Ridge, NJ.  No matter what community effort he participated in, he always seemed to emanate toward leadership roles with his passion for getting things done.

Beyond football and academics, Bill made acquaintances and friendships wherever he went.  He loved diving into history and sharing that knowledge with others. He was an avid cook and baker, having acquired those skills from his grandfather, andenjoyed spending time outdoors – whether riding bikes, playing golf, skiing, or fishing – but most of all, he cherished these moments when they were spent alongside his family.

Bill’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his daughters Nicole Wisniewski (Pete Wisniewski), Alyssa Lambert (Mike Lambert), and Annabelle Edelmann (Kenny Millman); his grandsons George, Mason, and Logan Wisniewski; his sister Elizabeth Edelmann (Gerry Overdevest); his brother JJ Edelmann (Shannon Edelmann); the mother of his children, Ida Bruno; and a host of family and friends whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his beloved son, William (Billy) Edelmann Jr., and his parents, Julius and Mary Lou Edelmann.

Bill will be remembered for his big heart, incredible sense of humor, and the way he made every gathering brighter with his presence. His love for his family and the memories he created with them will forever live on in their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the LSU Business Administration Scholarship Fundby visiting the LSU Foundation Tributes page and searching for William “Bill” Edelmann memorial fund, or by visiting the following website: giveLSU.org/billedelmann
