Kenneth C Heiden Obituary

Kenneth Heiden, 76, of Mount Kemble Lake, Harding Township, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025.


Born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Ken went to Morristown High School where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Marcia Hadley.  Ken graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his life, he was known not only for his professional talents, but also for his boundless creativity, curiosity, and dedication to family and community.


Ken had a lifelong love of tennis, model trains, and woodworking. He especially delighted in designing and building unique boats, and each autumn, he was famous for decorating his home with imaginative animated creatures for Halloween. Together with his beloved wife Marcia, Ken traveled the world—visiting six continents, more than fifty countries, and every one of the fifty states.


A man of service, Ken gave generously of his time and skills as a volunteer at his church, where he was an Elder and participated in the Triple A group to repair and maintain the building, he also contributed to numerous community projectslike the community water system and New Vernon Auction where he cleaned and repaired appliances for sale.


Ken is survived by his devoted wife Marcia, his son Brian (Lily), and his daughter Sara Bicos (James), his sisters Kathleen and Susan Miles, his brother Stephen and nine grandchildren.He was predeceased by his sister, Roberta Jones.


Ken’s warmth, ingenuity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.


The memorial service will be Saturday September 6, 2025 at 11 am, at the Presbyterian Church of Morristown on the Green.Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Morristown (65 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960 or https://pcm.breezechms.com/give ) or to the New Vernon Volunteer First Aid Squad (PO Box 13 Village Road, New Vernon, NJ 07976-0013).
