Patricia C. Schaffeld, 71, of Oldwick, NJ, was born August 5, 1953 at Englewood Hospital in Bergen County NJ to George and Adele Schaffeld. At an early age her parents relocated to Basking Ridge where she graduated from Ridge High class of ‘71

Patty subsequently attended the County College of Morris and earned her degree in 1973. In 1976 Patty began her career at Merrill Lynch where we met Alben Portnoy and married in 1977. Patricia left Merrill Lynch and began another career with  A T & T in 1979 and retired in 2009 after 30 years.

Patricia is survived by her husband (Alben Portnoy) her siblings Joann (Larry Zell), Tom and Sheri Schaffeld, Ed and Olwyn Schaffeld and Doreen (Bill Wermuth).

Patty was a very proud vegetarian, she loved animals, and she had exquisite taste, picking beautiful objects for our home.

Patty was a very kind, genrous, gentle, and compassionate lady. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Gallway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 12:00 - 1:00pm. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
