It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Kelly Marguerite Rosenthal of Nashville TN, who left us far too soon at the age of 31. An adored daughter, cherished sibling and loyal friend, Kelly left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kelly was raised in Basking Ridge and graduated from Ridge High School and Elon University.  Kelly was most passionate about her professional experiences working for animal rescue organizations and behavioral health institutions.

Kelly was a kind soul with a spirit that couldn’t be tamed.  She often marched to the beat of her own drum, unapologetically unique, fiercely independent with a sense of humor that could light up a room.  She was steadfastly loyal, always standing by those she loved with unwavering support and a listening ear.

A devoted animal lover, Kelly opened her heart and home to countless pets over the years, providing them with love, care and a second chance.   Kelly saw beauty in the broken and always had a soft spot for the underdog—perhaps because she understood struggle in a way most never will.

Kelly faced challenges in her life, bravely battling addiction with resilience and hope.  Though the journey was marked by ups and downs, she fought with courage and determination.  Ultimately the struggle became too great, but her spirit, kindness and the love she shared will never be forgotten. 

Kelly is survived by her parents, John and Lisa Rosenthal, her brother Patrick and sister Tori who will remember her not for the battle she lost, but for the light she gave during her time with us.

Family and friends are invited to a family gathering at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on July 10th from 4-6 immediately followed by a memorial service starting at 6pm. Family and friends are invited to continue the celebration of Kelly’s life by joining her family at the Washington House Restaurant immediately following the service.
