It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Joseph Zirpoli Jr., of Basking Ridge, NJ who left us on June 23, 2025 at the age of 80.  While our hearts are heavy with grief, we also want to celebrate the amazing life he lived and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Tony was an incredible family man who cherished his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  He was a devoted husband of almost 53 years to Carolyn, a loving father to Christina and Elizabeth and an adoring Papa to his grandchildren Emily, Hunter and

Logan.  

Tony was born on February 3, 1945 in Brisbane, Australia to his parents Anthony Sr. and Neta Zirpoli.  He grew up in Queens, NY.  Tony received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a Master’s degree from St. John’s University.  Tony was hard-working and dedicated.  He had a successful career of almost 30 years as a golf administrator at the USGA.  Tony enjoyed spending his retirement in St. Simons Island, GA.  He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed fishing and golfing.   He was also a history buff who had a wealth of knowledge.  One of Tony’s many positive attributes was that he could strike up a conversation with anyone.  It truly was a pleasure to be in his presence.  Tony was a great man who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. 

Tony is predeceased by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Neta.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn, his daughters, Christina (Lee) and Elizabeth (Ryan), his three grandchildren, Emily, Hunter and Logan, his sister Pat (Rick), his niece Kristen (Daniella) and nephew Rich (Maryana) and their children Anthony and Isabela, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.  Tony was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.  We find comfort in knowing that Tony’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 17th from 4:00-5:30 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. Memorial Service immediately following from 5:30-6:00 at the funeral home.
