Betty D. (Bunny) Wilmore passed away peacefully, in her home, in Bridgewater, New Jersey on April 21, 2025.  She was 93 years old.

Mrs. Wilmore was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Howard A. Dotson and Gladys B. Dotson.  She was a lifelong New Jersey resident, living her last 31 years in Bridgewater.  

A graduate of Sargent College (a school of Boston University), she became a physical therapist which would be her lifelong occupation. She would go on to treat hundreds of patients improving their day-to-day lives as well as their future.

Mrs. Wilmore worked at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside NJ, eventually becoming the Chief of their Physical Therapy department.

After a long tenure at Children’s, Mrs. Wilmore worked for private physical therapy companies until she retired.

Once retired, Mrs. Wilmore completed studies to become a Reiki master. As a breast cancer survivor, she became a volunteer at two local hospitals using this form of energy healing to aid cancer patients in their recovery.

She was a member of a local chapter of P.E.O. International, whose primary focus is on providing educational opportunities for female students worldwide.

Mrs. Wilmore is survived by her son Scott H. Wilmore, his wife Carol L. Wilmore, of Basking Ridge, her brother Robert W. Dotson, of New Rochelle, NY, her niece Beth Dotson, of Dover, NJ and her nephew Chris Dotson of East Hanover, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents Howard and Gladys Dotson and her brother Howard B. Dotson.

A memorial visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral in Basking Ridge on May 13, 2025, from 4;00 to 6:00 PM. There will be a buffet dinner afterwards at the Grain House in Basking Ridge, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM.
