Obituary of Michael J Yurchuk

Our beloved Michael Yurchuk, 54, passed away on March 20, 2025 following a 10-month battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Montreal, Canada on June 26, 1970, to Claudette Munro and Nicolas Yurchuk. His life and work have taken him to New Jersey, where he raised his three beautiful children, and finally to Indiana. No matter where Mike was, he saw life as a wonderful adventure and embraced each person he met as a potential friend on the journey.

Although that journey has ended all too soon, his incredible legacy lives on through the stories of anyone whose life he touched along the way. Among his many wonderful qualities, we’ll remember his courage, his quick wit and fun loving nature, and his ability to share the right story or provide some much-needed advice readily in the moment. He will be tremendously missed and our love for him will live on in our hearts forever.

Mike is survived by his children, Morgan, Ben, and Joelle; his soulmate Kaitlin; his father Nick and his stepmother Francine, and his siblings Johanne, France, Jennifer, and Derek.

The family has organized two events to honor and celebrate Mike’s life.

Memorial Gathering in New Jersey will take place Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at Washington House Restaurant, 55 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.

Memorial Gathering in Canada will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 in Montreal, at the Baie-de-Valois Nautical Center, 90 Chem. du Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 4H7, Canada from 3:00 - 7:00 pm

Each event will begin with a memorial service followed by a reception where the family invites you to share your memories and stories of Mike.
