Obituary of Elizabeth M Kenny
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Malley Kenny, who left us after a courageous and prolonged battle with medical complications on March 4, 2025 at the age of 39.
Lizzie was born on May 30, 1985, to Margaret and Thomas Kenny, and was lovingly raised alongside her cherished brothers, Matthew, Andrew, and James.
Lizzie was a proud graduate of St. James School and St. Elizabeth Academy, and also attended Marymount College. Those fortunate enough to know her will always remember Lizzie for her boundless heart, infectious spirit, and the warmth she radiated to everyone she encountered. Her presence touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark through her genuine compassion and the joy she brought into the lives of others.
Lizzie was adored by her immediate and extended family, as well as her vast network of friends. Her passion for music was an integral part of who she was. As a co-founder of the band Thomas Francis Takes His Chances, Lizzie wrote, performed, and shared her musical gifts alongside her brothers and friends, creating a lasting legacy of creativity, passion, and artistic expression.
Lizzie is survived by her father, Thomas and his wife Gail; her brother Matthew and his wife Melissa; her brother Andrew, his daughters Bella and Dylan, his fiancée Christina, and their son Jonah; her brother James, his wife Suzy, and their sons Thomas and Cassidy; her stepsister Mary Jean; and the large, loving extended Malley and Kenny families, all of whom she held dear and cherished deeply.
While we mourn her loss, we find solace in knowing that Lizzie is now reunited with her beloved mother, Margaret, in heaven, where she is at peace. “Oh the whistle blows when it’s time to go home”. Lizzie will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
