Obituary of David William Hansen
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David William Hansen, a devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother and uncle, cherished friend, and dedicated hockey coach. David journeyed into God's hands on March 4, 2025 at the age of 52. His zest for life, unwavering dedication to his family, and kind spirit will be forever remembered.
Born on March 28, 1972 to Arthur and JoAnn Hansen, in Chatham Township, New Jersey, David was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. A true provider, he always sought to give his family everything they needed. He encouraged his children in both their education and athletic pursuits, taking special joy in sharing "game talk" after their sporting events. David's deep love for his wife, Bridget, was evident to all who knew him. The couple shared a special bond, both having attended and graduated from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.
David was the proud owner of Dave's Lawn Care for many years, a business that connected him to countless people throughout the Chatham community. Beyond his work, he was a mentor to many young people, especially those fortunate enough to be coached by him. David drew on his experiences on and off the ice to guide and inspire the next generation of players.
When not at the hockey rink, David could be found outdoors, whether tending to landscaping, walking his beloved dog, Charlie, or cheering on his children at their games. He found great joy in spending time at the family's "Beach House" in Point Pleasant, where he formed lasting friendships and created treasured memories with his loved ones.
David is survived by his loving wife, Bridget, and their children Abby, Brody, Cameron, and Lexi. He leaves behind his two sisters, Donna Bazyk (William) Doreen Kolster (Glenn), Mother in Law, Wendy Murphy, sister-in-law Kelly Murphy, brother-in-laws Ryan Murphy (Sarah) , Kyle Murphy (Susie) and nine nieces and nephews: Billy, Morgan, Jacob, Caitlyn, Beckett, Dalton, William, Maximus, Riley, and Haley. Along with many cherished friends and extended family members, all of whom will miss him dearly.
David's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
