‘Loving mother, daughter and sister’

Kimberly Ann Metrovsky (53) of Basking Ridge, N.J. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 18, 2025 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Prior to her death, she was working toward completing her nursing degree.

Kimberly was born at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. to Robert and Terri (nee Dwyer) Metrovsky. She grew up in Middlesex, N.J. and graduated from Middlesex High School in 1989.

Before her passing, she was a medical assistant at Somerset Valley Urgent Care in Bedminster, N.J. where she was loved by her patients for her competency and kind demeanor. She was previously employed at EMO in Berkeley Heights, N.J., and spent many years as a part-time hairdresser.

Kimberly enjoyed going down the shore, spending her childhood summers at the family “bungalow” in Pine Beach, N.J. with all her cousins, and later at her family’s home in Loveladies on Long Beach Island. The beach was her happy place.

Family was everything to Kimberly, especially her four children. She loved whenever her extended family could be together and occasionally hosted holidays at her home. Kimberly was known for her fiery personality who was passionate about whatever was on her mind. She was a fiercely loyal confidant who would do anything for her loved ones. She had a comical, quick-witted sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She had a love for all types of music, especially from the 70’s and 80’s with her favorite artists including Olivia Newton John and Stevie Nicks. She also had an affinity for all things Marilyn Monroe art and memorabilia.

Kimberly had a special love for nostalgia and cherished keepsakes that carried any sentimental significance. This was a testament to her deep emotional connection to her family, friends and the meaningful experiences that defined her life.

Kimberly lived in Basking Ridge for over 25 years and made beautiful memories raising her four kids there. She is survived by her loving children Cody, Casey, Colin and Caylee, her parents Robert and Terri Metrovsky, brothers Jimmy (Denise), Danny (Tracy) and nephews Jeremy, Luke and Gaven. She also leaves behind her beloved Aunt Lori (Steve) Gallitelli, and many close cousins. She is predeceased by her longtime partner, Kim Coleman.
