Obituary of Connie Siceloff
Mary Conway "Connie" Siceloff of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2025. Connie was born on March 28,1939 in Richmond, VA to the late Anthony and Louise (Kennedy) Britton. After graduating from St. Gertrude's High School in Richmond, she moved to Newport News, VA where she attended Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing. While in nursing school, her friend set her up on a blind date with the man who would become her husband, Warren Siceloff. While raising her children, she worked as a nurse at Riverside Hospital in Newport News and volunteered as a school nurse at her children's school. After moving to NJ in 1980, she spent the next twenty years working nights at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ until her retirement in 2001. She loved being a nurse almost as much as she loved being a mother. She was kind, generous, and funny. She loved her wild birds and chipmunks, insisting that the feeder be filled daily for her feathered friends. She was also a deeply faithful woman who loved being part of St. James Church in Basking Ridge.
In addition to Warren, she is survived by her five children: Karen Duffy (Paul-her favorite son-in-law), Mark, Chris, Greg, and Jay. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren: Zachary Duffy (Cheyanne) and Alexander Duffy (Juliana). In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Anne Abbott.
Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers; Ysabel, Rosa, and NuNu, whom she adored. Her family is also appreciative of Atlantic Visiting Nurse Hospice, especially Monica and Georgiana, who brought her laughter and comfort.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 4-7 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at St. James Church 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society or Covenant House, two of her favorite charities
