Obituary of Gordon F Ahalt

Gordon F. Ahalt passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 97.

 

Gordon is survived by his three children, Gordon J. Ahalt of Seattle, Washington, Paula J. Patrick of Santa Barbara, California, Marion R. Gaydos of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and his brother David J. Ahalt, of Spokane, WA. Gordon also had seven grandchildren: Gordon M. Ahalt and John H. Ahalt, Conor J. Patrick and Austin D. Patrick, Kasey A. Gaydos, Alex J. Gaydos, and Chris J. Gaydos. His first great-grandchild, Ashton Gordon Ahalt, was born January 26, 2025. Gordon was married to his wife Mickey Ahalt for 65 years when she passed away in 2014.

 

Gordon was in the U.S. Army Paratroops serving in the Far East and Japan in 1946-47. Gordon is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, B.S. Petroleum Engineering 1951 and the Harvard 51st Advanced Management Program 1967. His career started as a Field Engineer with Stanolind Oil and Gas (Amoco Production Co.) in the Permian Basin in West Texas. He transitioned into banking with Chase Manhattan Bank and White Weld & Company, then President and CEO of the International Energy Bank Ltd. in London, to CFO of Ashland Oil, Inc. before starting his Consulting Practice in the areas Oil & Gas, Energy, and Investment Management.

 

Gordon traveled to 61 countries during his career and was joined by his wife on many of those trips. Gordon and Mickey were very avid golfers. Their family and friends provided much joy and love in their lives. He was a member of the U.S. Seniors, Baltusrol G. C., Pine Valley G.C., Morris County G.C., Wentworth G.C., and Royal St. Georges.
