Obituary of Anne C Olesky

Anne Carol Olesky (nee McClenahen) passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021 in Basking Ridge, NJ at the age of 91. She was born in Franklyn, NJ and attended Syracuse University. For much of her life Anne lived in Springfield then Summit, NJ. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was a lifelong volunteer at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ where she worked in Pediatrics and later in Ambulatory Surgery. The Hospital recently honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her 40 years of service and philanthropy. Later in life, she and her husband, Edward, delivered Meals on Wheels for SAGE Eldercare in Summit, NJ. Anne was also an accomplished fund raiser, whether gathering funds for the construction of a library in Springfield or the widow of her deceased mailman or a cardiac monitor for the Hospital; she convinced people to open their hearts and their checkbooks. Anne was passionate in her belief that politics were local, and she and Edward were actively involved with the Democratic Party in Springfield. She would advise her children regularly about the importance of being involved in their community. She loved spending time on Long Beach Island and in Vermont, and traveled extensively throughout France and England. She is survived by her three children: Steven, Lisa, and Jonathan, as well as nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
