Obituary of Anthony Horning, Sr

Anthony Horning   January 28, 1945-November 20, 2018

It is with great sadness the family of Anthony Horning Sr of Basking Ridge NJ announce his passing on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the age of 73 years.  Anthony was born in Bernardsville on January 28, 1945.  After graduating from Bernards High School he made Bernardsville and Basking Ridge his home.  In 1987 he started his company, Somerset County Electric, and has continued serving the electrical needs of this area right until the end.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Antoinette (Santillo) Horning. 

Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Joan, and his children, Christine Flack, Anthony Horning Jr, Melissa Horning, Son-in-law Kenneth Flack and grandchildren, Gabriela and Benjamin Flack.

He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings Thomas, Joanne, Barbara, Joyce and John.

Anthony enjoyed sports, golf, classic cars, gardening and spending time with his family.

He will be remembered as a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Anthony was admired and loved as a man with a heart of gold who would always be ready to lend a helping hand.  He had a great sense of humor, lived hard/played hard and was larger than life.

His presence will be immensely missed but his spirit and love will live within us forever.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 6:00 – 8:00pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home.  101 S. Finley Ave. Basking Ridge, NJ  07920. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Seney Drive, Bernardsville, NJ  07924. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
