Frances C. O’Brien, 88 of Basking Ridge, NJ went to be with the Lord at 10pm on January 5, 2021 with the caring and prayerful presence of her children and grandchildren. Born in Jersey City, she spent the last 54 years in the Basking Ridge area. She pursued many career avenues including Parish secretary at St. Vincent de Paul church in Stirling, real-estate sales, and ending her working career as administrator at St. Joseph’s Shrine. She was a prominent member of the Bereavement Team established at St. James parish to minister to the families of the area that had lost loved ones in the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers. She was proceeded to the Lord by her husband John (1932 -1992). She is survived by her two son’s Michael and Thomas (his wife Sonja); her daughter Jennifer Casella (her husband Louis) and three grandchildren; Jaclyn O’Brien Gardner (husband Kenny), Paul, and Caroline Casella. She was the light of Christ to the family and an example of His love for her entire life. A viewing will be held on Friday January 8, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue Basking Ridge. On Saturday January 9, 2021 at 10 am a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church 184 South Finley Avenue Basking Ridge followed by interment at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Stirling.
