Dear Mario and the Mennella family, My family and I were so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. We've been enjoying Buona Pizza since you first opened in Bernardsville, our two children's favorites changing as they grew into teens and then went off to live their lives elsewhere. Whenever they come to NJ for a visit with their own families, everyone insists on at least one meal from Buona Pizza! Mike was a very nice guy. He was always friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Very sorry for the loss to his brothers and sister. May he Rest In Peace. Gone way too soon.

Dear Mario and the Mennella family, I was very sorry to hear about your loss and wanted to send you my deepest sympathies. I know your family has been through a lot recently, making this loss even more difficult than it already is. I've been going to Buona's pizza since I was 13 years old and have had the pleasure to meet all of the Mannella family over time. Dear Mennella Family I'm very saddened to hear of the sudden death of Michael. Everyday after school we would all go to Buona Pizza after school. I was from the class of "86 and graduated with Mario. Buona was our second home to many people in town. I loved spending many a days and nights there play scopa with Pop at the back table. Michael was always the quiet but friendly. He was a hard worker and we all loved him very much. My sincerest condolences. Sending prayers for your entire family. Give my love to everyone!!!

To Michael’s entire family: My wife Sue and I are saddened to read about his passing. When we opened our store in Bernardsville in 1979 we went to the pizzeria frequently. We watched all the kids grow up over the years working there along side their dad. Michael and his siblings were really nice, polite, hard working kids and, although we only see Mario now, we know they grew up to be wonderful adults with families of their own. Mario had been caring for Michael since Michael’s diagnosis with MS. That was an incredibly selfless act. We know Michael’s at peace now. We send our heartfelt condolences. Sue and Harvey Goldberg.

Thank you Goldberg family. Mike did not have MS though. His passing is still a shock to us. He is at peace now with Pop—they are together again!! Forever in our hearts!!
