Obituary of Carol Davis Bright

Carol Davis Bright of Basking Ridge passed away on March 1, 2017. Born in Easton, PA, she lived at Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge since 1996, moving from Scotch Plains. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Kutztown State Teachers College in 1939. She was a Librarian at Bernards High School in Bernardsville from 1941 to 1949 ad at Wilson Elementary School in Westfield from 1965 until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the NJEA (New Jersey Education Association), the NEA (National Education Association), and a former member of the First Congregational Church of Westfield and Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church. At Fellowship Village she was actively involved in volunteering with the Hospitality Committee and served as a marketing tour guide. Her husband, Chester H. Bright, died in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen R. Bowes and her husband Jeff of Franktown, CO, her son Evan T. Davis, and his wife Karina, of Edison, Grandchildren, Alison R. Blanc and her husband Jack of Aurora, Co, Jeana Mari Davis of Effort, PA, Christopher and Brendon Mari Davis of Edison, and one great granddaughter, Meredith Blanc of Aurora, CO A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 17 Oak Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840 at 12 Noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Fellowship Village Benevolent Fund, 9000 Fellowship Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
