Obituary of Jordan W. La Maire

Jordan William La Maire, 24, of Basking Ridge, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Jordan was a 2010 graduate of Ridge High School and a 2014 graduate of Schreyer Honors College at Penn State in State College, Pennsylvania. While at Ridge High School, Jordan participated in the Choir and A Cappella Choir. He was a leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and loved art and physics. He participated in the musical "Seussical" and sang several times in the Cabaret performances. He was a member of the National Honor Society. As a child, he enjoyed tap dancing, and playing soccer, especially being a goalie. Jordan loved music and played many instruments. He and his friends formed several bands while in middle school and high school. He wrote and recorded music in his own basement studio. He was a lifeguard and tutored students during summers. In college, Jordan majored in digital media and minored in Chinese. He loved the Bible and taught himself Hebrew and Greek. He was an avid learner. Upon graduation from college, Jordan was employed by Tribe Pictures in Chatham, New Jersey where he was a production assistant. He loved movies and studied films and aspired to make movies one day. He also loved to quote his favorite lines from his favorite movies, often in a comedic fashion. He was a fun-loving young man that brought light and joy where ever he went. When Jordan was six years old, he made Jesus Christ the Lord of his life and He was the most important part of his life. He went on mission trips to Brazil, England and Ireland. While at Penn State, Jordan was a part of Alliance Christian Fellowship and most recently attended Emergence Church, where he was active in the young adult fellowship and helped teach Sunday School. He was a young man of great integrity and excellent character. He was loved by all who knew him and he knew how to love. Jordan was a wonderful son, brother, and grandson. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Lori La Maire; brother Brent La Maire; grandfather William Paulus Jr; aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday Dec. 1 at Galloway and Crane at 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. Celebration Service will be 11AM on Friday Dec. 2 at King of Kings Worship Center at 219 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge.
