Obituary of Kenneth C Farkas

Kenneth Charles Joseph Farkas, 62, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2016 with his family at his side, after a brave, year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Loving husband and father, Ken is survived by his wife Jeanette, and sons Alexander and Nicholas. Also survived by his sisters Ellen Peterson (Andy) and Kathy Grano (Joe). Ken was loved by his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and co-workers. Ken grew up in Edison, attending Edison High School before graduating from Rutgers University. Ken had a long career in finance at Merrill Lynch and UBS Paine Webber, working in London and NYC, managed a franchise for 1-800-PackRat, and most recently became an entrepreneur with Flying Meatballs and MerriMakers. Ken loved golf, baseball, fishing, and skiing, and most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ken's keen perspective on politics and social issues was seen often as a frequent contributor with Letters to the Editor at the Bernardsville News. Ken's kind nature and witty humor will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ from 12:00 pm – 2:00pm. There will be a short service at 1:30pm at the funeral home.
