Obituary of Ronald Bell

Ronald E. Bell, 75, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away on July 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Prior to moving to Basking Ridge in 1965, he resided in Springfield, NJ. Ron graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High school in 1960 where he was an All State Football player and met his wife of 52 years. Ron attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he continued to play football. Ron spent his career as a credit manager for Adidas and in the banking industry. Ron continued his love of sports through participation on local recreational teams and his true love coaching and cheering on his children and grandchildren who carry on his love of sports. He was also an avid fan of the N.Y. Giants and Yankees. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Helen and John Bell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn, and their two children, Sandra Bell and her husband Bradley Johnson of New Canaan, Ct; and Chris Bell and his wife Heather Bell of Basking Ridge. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Collin, Haley, Brendan, Logan, Riley, Larson, and by his two brothers, Richard and Harold. Ron's life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2016, 3:00pm at The First Presbyterian Church, 1 East Oak Street, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Following after the service will be a gathering from 4-8pm at the home of Marilyn Bell, 14 Spencer Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Basking Ridge First Aid Squad.
