Obituary of Mary M Cheney

Mary M. Cheney, 83 of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Medford Leas Nursing Home. She is previously of Basking Ridge where she spent most of her life. Mary graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was an avid gardner, and loved spending summers at the beach. Mary was a parishioner and was very involved with the Church of St. James in Basking Ridge. Mary is predeceased by her husband James in 1997. Also predeceased by her two daughters Susan Jeffcoat in 2009, and Mary Lynn in 1973. Mary is survived by her two children Beth Schmohl and husband John of Richmond, VA, Jim Cheney and wife Lori of Maritta, GA. Her eight grandchildren Christine, Michael, Mary Lynne, Trey, Caroline, Catherine, Elizabeth, and Will. Also survived by her brother Joseph Carstens and wife Doris, and her sister Mary Francis Lockenmeyer. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00am at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral Mass will follow at St James Church, Basking Ridge at 11:30am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
