Obituary of Roger F Johnson

Roger Frederick Johnson, 66 of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away on Monday February 2, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ellen, two daughters, Beth, Amanda Hughes and son-in-law Ian Hughes, and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Norah. He is also survived by his older sister and brother-in-law, Bette Ann and John VanNoy of Howell, NJ, two nieces and nephews. After working in Computer Technology for AT&T for 28 years mostly at the world headquarters in Basking Ridge, Roger enjoyed an early retirement. Roger was able to celebrate his good health by traveling the world with his wife. Roger enjoyed skiing all over the United States and abroad, relaxing on the beach all over the Caribbean and Mexico. Most recently Roger enjoyed river cruises in Europe. His family will most remember at Campground Beach on Cape Cod. Roger was very quiet about his health struggles however his family would like to share his story in hopes to inspire others to keep positive attitude and continue fighting. Roger will be remembered as a fighter and those who knew him best will always refer to him as a "miracle man" as he constantly beat all odds and overcame 5 separate types of cancer, 2 bone marrow transplants, numerous treatments out of state, diabetes and kidney dialysis. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 7th at 2:00 PM at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church. Following the service there will be a visitation and reception with the family at the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.
