Obituary of Joan McDowell

Joan Katherine Hyland McDowell, 82, of Basking Ridge New Jersey died on January 31, 2015 surround by her loving family. She was born on May 17, 1932, daughter of James and Katherine Hyland. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius Thomas McDowell and daughter Sharyn Lynn McDowell Tolochko. She is survived by her daughter Susan Kathryn and grand daughter Sarah James of Basking Ridge. She is also survived by her brother James Patrick Hyland and several nieces and nephews. She enjoyed an early career on Wall Street with Eastman Dillon. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and homemaker to her two daughters. She was a lover and great supporter of the arts and founded an educational scholarship at the American Ballet Theatre, New York City. The visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home located at 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge NJ from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 111 Claremont Rd [corner of Claremont and Seney Dr.] Bernardsville NJ.
