Obituary of Warrick Edward Lee, Jr.
Warrick Edward Lee, Jr. 78, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away on February 25, 2018, while vacationing in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Ed was the son of the late Clara (Von Beck) and Warrick Lee of Carbondale, PA. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1957 and then attended Lafayette College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree In Chemical Engineering and a commission as a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army in 1961.
In 1962, Eddy married Ann Marie Duffy, a kindergarten classmate. He served as an Ordinance Officer in France before receiving a Masters of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Tech. While living in France, he and Ann enjoyed touring nearby countries and meeting the local people.
Ed accepted a position with Union Carbide Engineering Department and, after attaining a law degree from Seton Hall Law School, joined their law department as a Patent Attorney in New York City. He subsequently joined the law department of Schering Plough Corporation from which he retired.
Ed enjoyed playing and studying guitar with his dear friend, Len Renzi. He was a crossword puzzle guru and an avid reader. Gardening and fishing in Quebec were his favorite summer pastimes. His garden was legendary. During the last few years, he and Ann were introduced to cruising by their dear friends from California, the Kearns.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, a son Warrick Edward Lee, III (Donna) and grandson Kevin Joseph Lee of Gladstone, NJ, a nephew, Rob (Jennifer) Jones, a niece, Anne Duffy, and sister - in - law, Marianne Duffy of Arlington,VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou (Fred) Jones.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-5 PM at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Findley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ http://gcfuneralhome.com. On Friday, visitation will be from 9-10 AM in St. Mark's Church, 140 Finley Avenue followed by a service at 10 AM. Internment will be private for the family.
