Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 01, 2010 10:00 AM Basking Ridge Funeral Home, Basking Ridge, NJ Visitation: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 6-8:00 p.m. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, Basking Ridge, NJ Interment: Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ BiographyJoseph F Behot, 91, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away on Sunday August 29, 2010 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.Born in Burlington, NJ, and moved to Bridgewater, NJ in the early 1950's. He graduated from Villanova University in 1942 where he was a standout football player. He entered into the US Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946 after serving in the Pacific theatre including the occupation forces in Japan. Joseph was the head football coach at Rider College for the 1949-1951 seasons and went on to be the Assistant Director of Rider until 1972. He was a Guidance Councilor at Westfield High School from 1972 until he retired in 1985. Joseph's love for football and fishing is carried on by his children and grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his loving wife of 49 Louise years in 1999. Surviving are his sons Joseph Jr, and Robert, daughters Gayle and Mary, grandchildren Michael, James, Scott, and Christie as well as devoted daughters in law Catherine Stinneford, Patty Behot, and son in law Kevin Deutsch. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 10am at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ followed by interment in the Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 95 Mt Airy Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ.
